The “Post Options” tab allows you modify advance post options such as discussion management and additional display options. These options will be assigned to the individual entry, not the blog as a whole.
Enable Post Options
The “Enable Post Options” box will turn on all checked boxes on this screen.
Display Options
- The “Do not post this article until the publication date” option will allow you to delay a post until the date specified on the blog entry.
- The “Show excerpt on main page” option will show the first few lines of your blog on the main page associated with the blog.
- The “Limit excerpt characters” option allows you to specify the length of the excerpt displayed on the main page.
- The “Show Permalink” option provides a URL at the bottom of the entry, so visitors can share your blog entry.
- The “Show Share Button” option allows visitors to share your blog post with others.
- The “Display Add Comment Box” will allow visitors to comment on your blog entry.
- The “Display Comments” option displays visitor comments on your blog for others to see.
Manage Discussion
- The manage discussion options give you control of the comments made on your blog.
- You can allow anonymous comments or require users to enter their email address on comments.
- You can also require approval of comments. This will disable comments from being displayed until they are approved by an administrator.
Notifications
You can request to be notified via email whenever a user comments on your blog.
Save and Close
After you have completed your new blog entry, click “Save” or “Save and Close” to keep your changes. The Edit Blog Entry screen will now close, and you will be brought back to the main Blog Module screen.
