As with most of our modules, you can decide which information about your calendar event will display and which will remain hidden. To access these options, click “Display Options” in the top left corner of the browser screen when the module is opened to edit.
These options are covered in detail below.
Calendar List Display Options
The options under this item control what information will display for the calendar as it appears on your site.
- Calendar Tools: These check boxes determine which tools will be available to your site’s visitors.
- Shorten Description: When this box is checked the description of the event, if there is one, will be shortened while offering the option to see the full description.
- Limit Description to: In this field, you can set a limit on how many characters you want displayed in the description before it is shortened.
- Limit Event Range: When this box is checked, it will offer two options for the limitations you’d like to set for the range of events displayed.
- Limit By: Here you will decide whether you want the Limit Range to be determined by Length of Time (i.e., last week to next week) or by Number of Events (i.e., last 10 events to next 10 events).
- Limit Range: These two boxes offer you different options for the range of events displayed, one that determines how far back the range should extend and how far forward, according to the option selected in the Limit By menu box.
- Paginate: Checking this box will allow you to paginate your events after a certain number of them are displayed
- Paginate After: Here you will determine how many events will display before they begin to paginate
- Title Appearance: The options in this menu box determine which Heading type you’d like to use for the text of your event’s details. For more information on Headings, please see the Text Editor Manual.
- Layout Option: This menu box offers you the option to have the calendar appear to the left or the right of the Event List.
Social Media
The options under this item control the ways in which your event can be shared on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
- Show Share Button: Checking this box will display the share menu on your calendar events where visitors to your site can share the event through various social media sites.
- Display RSS: Displaying the RSS link is a good way for your events to be transmitted to your calendar’s subscribers as you create and update your events.
- Show RSS: Select this box if you’d like to display the RSS feed link for others to subscribe.
- Show RSS by Categories: Check this box if you’d like to display the RSS feed link for specific Event Categories you’ve within your Calendar Module. You may have to scroll down in this menu to see this option.
Calendar List Display
The checkboxes under this item represent what information about your event displays on the calendar Events List. If the box is checked and there is information in the corresponding fields for the events, that information will display. If unchecked, or there is nothing in the fields for the events, that item will not display.
Calendar Event Details Display
The checkboxes under this item represent what information about your event displays on the calendar Events List.
- If the box is checked and there is information in the corresponding fields for the events, that information will display. If unchecked, or there is nothing in the fields for the events, that item will not display.
- Layout Option: In this menu box, you can choose if you’d like to have the image display on the right or left of the event information in the Events Details area.
